Tiffany’s Story

Tiffany knows the sound of her daughter's laughter on the playground by heart—it's the soundtrack of summer and of childhood joy. But when a playground accident caused a major injury, Tiffany's world narrowed to hospital corridors and her child's bed.

Weeks later she finally returned to work. Her next paycheck was still nearly a month away, leaving a devastating gap. With no child support and her savings completely depleted, Tiffany faced an impossible reality: she had done everything right, worked hard, saved what she could, and still found herself on the edge of losing her home.

Tiffany came to LEAVEN for rent assistance to bridge the gap that no parent should have to face alone. For Tiffany, it meant more than keeping a roof over their heads—it meant her daughter could heal in the safety of their own home, that the trauma of her injury wouldn't be compounded by the trauma of eviction.

Tiffany's story reminds us that financial crisis doesn't discriminate based on character or work ethic. A single emergency can unravel years of careful planning. Today, Tiffany's daughter is healing, her arm growing stronger each day. And their home remains a place of safety and love. That's the power of community showing up when it matters most.
