Brittany’s Story
Brittney has always loved riding her motorcycle along quiet back roads when the leaves begin to change, finding freedom and peace in the colors of fall. After a motorcycle accident altered her life, she faced a long and difficult recovery. The physical and cognitive effects were profound, requiring significant ongoing medical care.
LEAVEN provided critical support by covering her rent, allowing Brittney to remain stably housed while she focused on recovery and rebuilding her independence. Stable housing during recovery is a cornerstone of long-term healing. When someone like Brittney can remain housed while navigating complex medical care, it reduces the risk of prolonged hospitalization, homelessness, or repeated crises. It allows recovery to happen with dignity and continuity.
While she no longer rides the back roads, Brittney still finds joy in the changing leaves—now capturing them through the lens of her camera, a reflection of both her resilience and her ability to adapt and keep finding beauty along the way.
